Mr. Clean
Dangerous Obsession

Mr. Clean is a vicious serial killer who has been piling up bodies in and around Burlington, North Carolina for at least four years. At first, the murders were not linked because they were sporadic and spread over multiple jurisdictions. Add to that the fact that ace-investigator, Kevin Slater, was not on the case until the third body turned up.

We know that Mr. Clean is probably dark complected with course, black hair, based on evidence left on one of his victims, though he is not believed to be Latino. A large man, he cuts an imposing figure of about 6' and close to 200 pounds. He'll be as meticulous with his own appearance as he is with cleaning up after himself. It's how he got his name. He'll be nicely dressed in stylish, though not flashy, garment, and his hair and nails will be immaculate. He's a highly-intelligent predator, much like a tiger...beautiful on the outside, but a cold-blooded killer on the inside with the ability to blend in to his surroundings.

He's conceited and would love nothing more than to show off his superior intellect, but his need to keep hid deeds from becoming known will temper that urge, forcing him to express his superiority in other ways, such as work. He'll be successful in a white-collar position that allows him to flaunt his vast knowledge without drawing unwanted attention to himself, possibly a self-employed computer specialist or journalism-type field. But his need for secrecy will come with consequences. He may at times, become depressed and/or angry at having to keep his true self hidden, causing him to lash out at others. Because of this, he will likely have a history of drug and/or alcohol abuse.

He may or may not live with a life partner. If he does, this person will be clueless in regards to his activities. He might also maintain a separate residence where he feels comfortable expressing his true self. If he maintains a separate residence, this will be the location where he takes his victims. This is also where he will store the trophies that he is compelled to save from his misdeeds.

Women between the ages of 22 and 40 are strongly urged to travel in groups and to remain indoors after dark. If you must be out, remain with a trusted companion and inform a friend or family member of your schedule. Carry a cell phone and refrain from visiting city parks or other sparcely inhabited locations after dusk.

A highly-organized offender, Mr. Clean selcts his victims carefully, choosing only those who meet certain specific criteria known only to himself. That is, until Jess Mitchell arrives on the scene, and with the help of Detective Kevin Slater, figures out the one small detail that all of the victims have in common. But Mr. Clean still has an ace up his sleeve. He's personally acquainted with both Kevin and Jess, though they won't make the connection until it's almost too late.
