Maggie O'Dell has worked at the Burlington Police Department for the past 15 years. She started as a civilian records clerk and worked her way up to Administrative Assistant to the Chief of Police, Dean Johansen. She's a sweet, loveable woman who takes care of everyone. In fact, she's called Mom by many of the younger officers. Unlike many women, she's looking forward to middle age and the many surprises it will bring. She's never been married, nor does she have any children. However, she's never lacked companionship. She's served as surrogate mother to countless young police officers who have started their careers in Burlington, as well as to a young Jess Mitchell after her parents were killed tragically. On top of it all she's been crazy-in-love with one man for years. But because he holds a powerful position, they have kept their relationship hush-hush from everyone, including his own daughter.
