Captain Roberto Kurtis
Dangerous Heat

6'0", 180 lb
DOB 09/14/1957, Virgo
Black hair shot with gray; olive complexion, twinkling, dark brown eyes

Nearly a decade ago, Roberto Kurtis took underwing, Jess Mitchell, the daughter of college buddy, John (later adopted by Dean Johansen), when she attended graduate school in Pasadena, supplying her a teaching position at the Los Angeles Police Academy to meet the instructor experience requirements of her degree program, and of course, ensuring her safety while she lived nearly three thousand miles away from her home and family.

A darkly, handsome man, thanks to his Cuban mother, with an occasionally hot temper, courtesy of his Irish father, he's a proud husband, father of three, and grandfather who hails from Miami, Florida. Today, having risen through the ranks, Captain Roberto Kurtis, called Rob by his friends, family, and coworkers, heads the Robbery-Homicide Division at the Los Angeles Police Department, where he moved straight out of college to accept an entry-level position. He's still close to good friend Dean Johansen, though living so far apart means they keep in touch mostly by email.

Having heard that young Jess, now a highly sought-after forensic psychologist, is in town to give a lecture at her alma mater, he tracks her down for help on a case that's been dragging for four years and is now in danger of being sent to the cold case files. Of course, she can't turn him down after all he's meant to her and her dad.

So, with new husband, Kevin Slater, and their twin sons in tow, she hangs around town a little longer and lends her expertise to that of psychiatrist, Dr. Gavin McGuiness, who she clashes with often amid fireworks between her husband and her ex-boyfriend, Jake Robertson, leaving Rob to play mediator and keep them all from killing each other as they race to find the ellusive Cinderella and her latest victim before it's too late. Will it take more than a show of his Irish temper?
